Project Description
Experience the charm of a Rustic Cabin Remodel!
WOW! What a change! This rustic Cabin remodel is located in Boulder, Colorado.
What is so exciting about sheetrock?
Well, when you live in an antiquey cabin, dust and drafts are an issue… The homeowners loved the rustic original atmosphere but the kitchen needed help.
The biggest transformation is the result of sheetrock on two walls, ceiling too, and between the original horizontal log planks. With a fresh coat of paint, the feeling of this room is hip and functional, yet it retains the quaint attraction of a rustic cabin. The sheetrock adds noise reduction and insulation from the changes in exterior temperature in the Rocky Mountains.
Beetle Kill Pine Custom Cabinets
A wise decision… The clients chose to reface the existing cabinets and build new ones to blend with the old. Beyond Moonlight constructed new upper and lower custom cabinets of Beetle Kill Pine. A perfect match! A corner cubby Lazy Susan provides additional storage. Rustic barn veneer added to the lower face of the existing island looks totally authentic. Open shelving adds a display option for cookbooks and pottery.
BMC tiled an earthy, muted old world, brick-style backsplash under the cabinetry. Under-cabinet lights illuminate new countertops. The floor is made from planed, reclaimed beams and adds a warm glow.
A deep farmhouse sink adds charm and practicality. An amber glass light pendant with the wrought iron finish is a beautiful decorative touch to match the simple country-style cabinet hardware.
This kitchen a wonderful place to cook! Smell the biscuits baking!
Elsewhere in the cabin, we remodeled the home office and an entry hallway. The low profile LED recessed lighting throughout casts a warm glow.
